Dutch protesters are 'hitting back' at the 'madness'

Sky News host James Morrow says the Netherlands in pursuit of its own "green dreams" is now "cracking down" on family farms – which has seen protesters hit back at the "madness".

"The Netherlands, which in pursuit of its own green dreams of lowered carbon and now nitrogen emissions, is cracking down on family farms," Mr Morrow said.

Mr Morrow said this is leading to protests across the nation and "empty supermarket shelves".

Farmers are protesting around the Netherlands over the government’s new policy which would see the country slash nitrogen oxide and ammonia emissions by 50 per cent by 2030.

Mr Morrow said protesters are "hitting back at this madness".
