At least seven people died, six in Presidente Getúlio and one in Ibirama, Santa Catarina, during the heavy rain that hit the state as of Wednesday night. The storm caused floods, floods and landslides in cities in the Itajaí Valley.

Initially, the Civil Defense reported that there were 11 dead and 20 missing. Then, at about 10:20 am, the information was corrected by the agency for seven dead, based on the data released by the Instituto Médico Legal (IML). The number of missing persons has not been confirmed.
