'Billionaire Jack Ma Returns After Mysterious Absence Amid Beijing Crackdown'

Chinese tech tycoon Jack Ma, who has not been since October, has suddenly emerged after months of speculation over his whereabouts.

Making no reference to his absence, Ma delivered a message celebrating rural teachers during an online ceremony. The Alibaba and Ant Group founder had not been since the Bund Summit last year, where he said Chinese banks operated with a 'pawnshop' mentality.

Relief over his reappearance was short-lived however, with attacks on his business empire decimating his personal wealth and removing his status as China's richest man.
