U.S. President Joe Biden continued on Wednesday (February 17) to push his $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief plan before meeting with labor leaders in the Oval Office.
Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are sitting down with labor leaders to discuss the American Rescue Plan, ways to stimulate the economy and infrastructure development.
As the group gathered in the Oval Office ahead of the meeting, Biden responded to a reporter's question regarding the plan, which he spoke about at a CNN Town Hall on Tuesday (February 16) night.
He said that polls have shown between 64 and 69 percent support for the stimulus and added that major economists agree that it will grow the U.S. economy.
Biden wants Congress to pass the legislation in the coming weeks in order to get $1,400 stimulus checks out to Americans and bolster unemployment payments.
