A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen
A BBC Radio adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's classic play providing a new "take" in which the setting has been moved to 1870's India. However, although the names may have been changed (the two main characters are now "Tom", an Englishman working for the British Colonial Administration in Calcutta, and "Niru", his Indian wife) and the setting transposed, the story and sheer power of the play remain unchanged.
The play is introduced by Tanika Gupta, the celebrated playwright who adapted Ibsen's play for radio and created this transposition.
