Several leaders of activist groups in Arkansas gathered during the first day of early voting to rally against Arkansas Issue 1.
Arkansas Issue 1 would make permanent a tax increase that was promised to sunset in 2023, supposedly for road repairs.
The Arkansas Department of Transportation only spends 10% of their budget on roads while Arkansas is the 2nd highest taxed state in the nation in terms of state and local taxes.
